TRYOUT DETAILS

Sunday August 18th - Conant School, Acton. Grades 3-5 from 5-6pm. Grades 6-9 from 6-7pm.
Sunday August 25th - Millworks, Westford. Grades 3-5 from 6-7pm and Grades 6-9 from 7-8pm
Thursday August 29th - Fenn School, Concord. Grades 3-5 from 6-7pm and Grades 6-9 from 7-8pm
Players may attend both tryouts but are only required to attend one

ELEVATION "MAX 8" PROGRAM

Fall 2024 wil be the 7th year of the Elevation AAU program. AAU is ever-changing and a never-changing learning experience. We have done our best to contsantly re-evaluate what we are doing and, if necessary, change and adapt.
If there is one thing that has become crystal clear, it is that players WANT and NEED to play! Winning is nice. Development is crucial. But in the end, players need to be on the floor to reach their potential and to enjoy the experience as much as possible.
This Fall, we are fundamentally changing how we form and administer our teams with the creation of the Max-8 Program.
WHAT IS IT AND HOW WILL IT WORK?
- In the past we have tried to form teams of 10 or maximum 11 in tournaments. But we have found, that is still too many! So the goal is to have have teams of no more than 8 players playing in tournaments.
- For example, on a given weekend, if we have 15 players in a grade group, we will form a team of 7 and a team of 8. If we have 18, we will form three teams of six. 14 players would be two teams of seven, etc.
- Grade groups would still practice in larger numbers which is more beneficial, but for games, groups would be split up as explained above.
- These changes will require flexibility from players and parents regarding make up of teams as well as clear and consistent communication in both directions, especially letting coaches know if a player is not available for a given game or weekend.
- Ultimately, while no system is perfect we believe this Max-8 approach will benefit players most and more greatly satisy players and parents!

DETAILS ON ELEVATION FALL AAU:

Players who compete in Elevation Fall AAU will receive the following:

FIVE weekend tournaments throughout the Fall
Team Practices
Attend all addition weekly Skills Workouts free of charge. Skills Clinics take place weekly and Elevation AAU players are encouraged to attend as many as they wish, in addition to their team practices.
Friday "Game Nights". Weekly open gym for organized pick up games. No drills. No practice. Just play!

Tryout costs are $25 per player. Payment can be made via Venmo (@Rick-Kilpatrick), Cash, or Check.

Players should try to attend at least one tryout but are welcome to attend as many as they wish. If your child can not attend any of these scheduled tryouts, please email me at rick@elevationbasketballma.com
